Just thinking out loud. Say 'tabung' (it's a soft 'b') means urban. It's not a saving box.
Hmmm...kotobungan, any chance of it being a cognate with 'pertembungan' in Malay meaning convergence in English.
Use them in sentences :
1) tabung - Poingizon ih Malia doid tabung. Malia resides in an urban area.
2) kotobungan/cosmopolitan/urbane - Miaga tuhun do kotobungan ih Malia. Malia seems to exude an urbane mannerism.
Uh, that's tricky.
Something else...
I was saying a broom. Someone next to me wasn't cognizant of the word. Familiar with a sweeper. In Kadazan we call the labor-aid, 'tiimuau'. Wish you could hear me. Not sure whether I'll ever be able to figure that one out. Being audible, that is.
I'm off to do some sweeping (the floor). Bah, mongimuau zou poh kio. Or, mooi zou poh pongimuau, kio.
